Demonstrating God’s Love through Acts of Compassion
WELCOME TO HOCEM
When you give a luncheon or a dinner, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, otherwise they may also invite you in return and that will be your repayment. But when you give a reception, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind and you will be blessed, since they do not have means to repay you; for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous (Luke 14:12–14).
1 Chronicles 29:11 Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all. Isaiah 1:17; 58:10 Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause. If you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday.
Kingdom Concept...
With Love and Compassion, We Preach the Kingdom of God!
Matthew 28:19-20
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
Matthew 10:7-8
And as you go, preach, saying, the Kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
John 13:34; 14:15
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. If you love me, keep my commandments.
MOVE WITH COMPASSION
When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, He had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without shepherd. …so He began teaching them many things. Often, when Jesus saw crowds of people who seemed lost, he was moved with compassion (Mark 6.34; Mark 8.2; Matthew 14.14). We’re following the example of Jesus Christ with a heart of compassion. It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassion fail not—they are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness (Lamentations 3:22-23).
